Colin Wilson and the history of the occult.

CHRIS: I knew about Colin Wilson long before he did the introduction to this volume of Swedenborg's Heaven and Hell.

BRENT: Who is he?

CHRIS: He is an historian of the occult. I'm not sure if he is still alive. He wrote a book called "The History of the Occult."

BRENT: Does he talk about The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn?

CHRIS: He talks about the occult. About the Universe being a code. He covers the array of subjects and Crowley's groups are essayed in there … yes.

BRENT: What do you mean a code?

CHRIS: You have to read the book. He is not a whacko. He talks about what the occult is. He is an historian about it.

BRENT: What does he say?

CHRIS: I can't tell you what he says. I read it 200 years ago. It's a very personal book. It tells you anything you would want to know about the occult. What the occult is. You keep asking me. It's just a book I read a long, long Time ago. He defines the Universe as an intelligently operating condition and this creative intelligence expresses itself in information that is coded for the various forms of existence and being that make up consciousness and life.

BRENT: Is there a connection between Transcendental Meditation and the occult?

CHRIS: You have to understand what the Word occult means. It's a very definite Word. It means to hide or conceal something. It comes from astronomy where an astronomical object as viewed from our point of view blocks our view of any objects in space behind it, and astrology this has to do with the occultation of creative energies emanating from celestial objects due to the proximity and interactions of other celestial objects. He talks about the sixth sense. He demystifies the World of magic.

BRENT: Are you familiar with the sixth sense?

CHRIS: Some people call it the Third Eye, the extra sensory Perception. It's a Perception of things above the frequency of Light. Just as we interpret sight and sound we would also interpret a discrete strangeness of uncommon perception. I mean that's what I mean.
